General Booking Conditions

Confirmed bookings: Confirmed bookings will only be accepted once full payment and all the appropriate paperwork has been received. All bookings are required at a minimum of two weeks prior to the event that you want to attend.

Payment Options: By cheque or bank transfer.

Exclusive right: The granting of trade space does not guarantee the trader sole right of selling or promoting their particular commodity or service unless the organisers approve such an agreement in writing.

Right to refuse: The event organisers reserve the right to refuse any application without explanation.

Sale item: Your booking will be taken on the basis of the information given. You will not be able to display or sell items not listed or which the organiser feels to be inappropriate.

At our craft events we are offering stalls to those people who hand make their own products, crafts or artwork of any kind, plus high quality food & drink produce, either locally produced or from other parts of the world. We will also consider high quality fair trade goods. Please contact us if you have any questions or wish to enquire if you can trade.  Those who trade in mass-produced products, such as home selling goods, will be refused a stall, subject to our discretion. Our community events are more flexible as to what we allow traders to sell.

Please see each individual location information (below) for more details.

Cancellation by traders: Traders are liable to pay for all market dates booked with no cancellation fee payable. However, at the discretion of the organiser, should a trader wish to withdraw a confirmed application for any reason, giving more than 15 days notice, then there will be a cancellation/administration fee of 25% of the total site fee.

Certificates / Insurance: As part of the condition of entry all traders must hold and send with their application form copies of their Public, Product and Employers Liability Insurance. All food producers must also enclose a copy of their local authority registration details and their food hygiene certificates.

Risk Assessment: All traders must also complete a full risk assessment. Click here for a sample risk assessment form and some guidelines.

Terms & Conditions: By booking for any event the Trader is agreeing to abide by the terms and conditions as laid out.

Christmas events: Priority for booking for the Christmas market dates, November and December, will be given to those traders who have supported the market throughout the year.

New Traders

New traders need to contact Anna Barry with details of what they intend to sell, with photographs or a link to your website, and to check availability of stalls prior to booking.

All our traders will have a web page created and added to this site once they become a *regular trader. New traders will be added to the traders page but with no web links.

*regular traders are those who trade at the majority of events at any location. For instance, if a trader books for 8 out 10 events at Staines they will be classed as a regular trader at Staines only.

Location information can be found on the 'location' page. Any extra information needed for the location will be sent a couple of days prior to the event booked.

Each Trader is responsible for the provision of their own public liability insurance and for the safety of their stall and itís products.

A copy of the Traderís insurance certificate and/or insurance policy is required on booking.

Please note that if you take out insurance with The National Market Traders Federation you need to send a copy of both sides of your card, this is your insurance, and not a copy of the NMTF insurance certificate.

If you are not sure of what is required then Anna Barry can advise you.

Anna Barry and the Arts & Crafts Market does not hold any liability for any trader or their products.

Every trader shall participate in the market entirely at his or her own risk in every respect, and shall absolve Anna Barry and the Arts & Crafts Market from responsibility for such risks, including personal injury, loss or damage to property: however this injury, loss or damage may be caused whether by fire, theft, inclement weather, interruption of power, defect in the equipment and building or failure of subcontractors or agents to perform.

Anna Barry and the Arts & Crafts Market cannot be held responsible, and its exhibitors absolve it from any responsibility, for loss of profits, for damage or theft of traders stock, interruption of power or services, or failure of press advertisement fully contracted to appear, inclement weather and failure of sub-contractors or agents to perform, which may result in loss to Traders. Anna Barry and the Arts & Crafts Market does not provide insurance cover for theft or damage to Traders stock and recommends that they take adequate insurance against all risks. Purchasing Public Liability Insurance

If you are looking for insurance I would recommend that you contact your household contents insurers first, as you may already be covered for public liability. Please ensure that they do provide public liability for you to sell your products outside the home and not just public liability in the home or products liability outside the home, which will not be adequate. You will need to request a letter from your insurers to confirm that you are covered by public liability insurance to sell your goods at our events and I will need to be sent a copy of this with your insurance certificate.

If you are not covered under your household policy then I would suggest that you either get a quote from the following four providers or do a search yourself as there are many insurance providers in the market place, but please do think about what cover you need and talk to the companies to see if they cover you to the level you require. It is the traders responsibility to ensure that they are covered adequately.

Anna Barry & The Arts & Crafts Market Ltd does not take any responsibility for the following companies service and only has these links on the website as a guide to traders. All costs stated on this page are for guidance only and you must ensure that you get a quote for your own insurance cost.

i) Ian Wallace, Craft Insurance Scheme, who specialise in craftsmen insurance, at £71.00 for 1 million public liability insurance.

ii) GM Imber & Sons Ltd, 0870 606 6668, probably the best value for money at £50 for an annual cover of 5 million public liability, includes products, employers and legal liability.

iii) The National Market Traders Federation, gives wide cover as above for £90 per annum.

iv) Wendy Fair Markets, £53 for an annual cover of 5 million public liability insurance, which includes product liability or £78 to include employers liability.
